Why is manufacturing different from home services for AI agents?
Home services is volume × small ticket — 30,000 calls a year at a $480 average. Manufacturing is the opposite: fewer touches, much larger tickets, and one bottlenecked engineer or estimator gating every dollar. A mid-size manufacturer typically runs 800 RFQs/yr at $12,500 each (The Fabricator). Cutting quote turnaround from 4–6 days to 1 day moves the win rate from 22% to 32% — that single agent is worth ~$420K/yr by itself. Manufacturing is where AI agents stack the highest.
Can the Document Copilot handle our SDS sheets and customer-specific drawings?
Yes. The Document Copilot indexes your SDS library, customer drawings, prior job folders, internal specs, and tribal-knowledge documents into a searchable retrieval layer. Engineers, CSRs, and sales reps ask plain-English questions and get the manufacturer's exact published text back — never paraphrased, never AI-invented. We have built this pattern for a $35M manufacturer; their engineering team recovers roughly 60% of the time they used to spend hunting through PDFs. BLS pegs a manufacturing engineer's loaded cost at $48/hr — that compounds fast.
How does the Quoting Agent work without seeing our private margin rules?
The Quoting Agent doesn't replace your estimator — it removes the bottleneck around them. It pulls the incoming RFQ, normalizes the requirements against your prior-job library, drafts a structured estimate using your published rate cards and historical price points, and routes it to your estimator for the margin decision and final sign-off. Your private margin logic, supplier rates, and pricing strategy stay with your team. The agent just kills the 4-day lag between the RFQ landing and a human looking at it.
What about ITAR / EAR or controlled-information manufacturing?
If your shop is ITAR-registered or handles EAR-controlled technical data, every AI agent has to run inside a US-person, US-hosted inference stack with no cross-border data flow and no model training on your content. We will scope that explicitly in the AI Assessment and the consulting call. For non-controlled work — most metal fab, contract manufacturing, and specialty manufacturing — we deploy on standard infrastructure. We do not deploy ITAR-scope agents without a written export-control review first.
What does the $1,000 AI Assessment include?
Four things. (1) A ~20-minute intake call with Annie, our AI Intake Assistant, walking through your shop floor, RFQ flow, account-management cadence, and document workload. (2) A 48-hour written report quantifying your biggest leaks — quoting turnaround, dead-RFQ follow-up, document-lookup time, silent-account decay, dispatch — with dollar ranges modeled on NAM, AMT, SME, and BLS manufacturing benchmarks. (3) A free 1-hour consulting call with our team after the report is delivered — open agenda, ask any AI question you want. (4) Our $1,000 first-month savings guarantee.
What is the free 1-hour consulting call?
After the AI Assessment report is delivered, you book an hour with the Sanders AI team. The agenda is open — work through the report, ask about a different AI question entirely, or talk through AI strategy for your shop. It is not a sales pitch or a setup call. If you want to move forward with Sanders AI services after the consulting call, that is a separate conversation. The consulting hour is included with every $1,000 AI Assessment.
How is the $1,000 guarantee enforced?
If AI does not save your business $1,000 or more in the first month after implementing our recommendations, email us and we refund the assessment fee.
